The Food and Cooking of Belgium

 

Chef Suzanne is the author of the worldwide newly released cookbook ‘The food and Cooking of Belgium’. She will be featuring recipes from her cookbook and will guide you with classic Belgian dishes that will introduce you to the most acclaimed European gastronomy. Classic soups such as Cream of Endive Soup, Watercress soup, Onion Soup from Aalst and hearty stews such as Flemish stew simmered in Belgian beer with frites, Fish gratin from Ostend and fine vegetable dishes and not to forget the exclusive desserts such as Belgian chocolate mousse, Cheesecake with sour cherries, Liege style coffee with Ice cream, Sugar cookies from Brussels and so much more. Europe is coming a little closer to home and the author signed books will be available in class.

Cooking with Unrefined Grains

 

Eating more whole grains and fiber may help reduce the risk of many cancers. Suzanne will introduce you to several tasty dishes containing healthy grains; making it a culinary feast to get the fiber we need every day. Different grains and cooking methods will be covered and dishes such as, Buckwheat Noodle Soup, Rosemary & Sundried Millet Cakes with Basil Tartar Sauce, North African Seafood Couscous Paella, Spice Crusted Chicken Strips on Quinoa Salad with Avocado Sauce, Mediterranean Salad with Toasted Flaxseed Dressing, Oat Bran Cookies, Apple Cobbler, Lemon Barley Lemonade and so much more will be made in class. After this class, you will be inspired to bring nutritious and healthy dishes to your dinner table at home.

hef Suzanne is inviting you for another culinary journey to Thailand. Simple, but delicious popular Thai dishes will be prepared such as Thai Basil Chicken, Pad Thai noodles, Spicy Peanut and Carrot Soup, Hot & Sour Soup, Broiled spicy Eggplant with Sesame seeds, Thai Peanut Sauce on Crunchy Salad, Sticky Rice with Mango and Coconut Fried Bananas. In this 2 session’s class, we’ll get you acquainted with a variety of Thai spices and ingredients such as lemongrass, lime leaves, curries etc. Join us to discover a new, hot and trendy cuisine.

Chef Suzanne is warming up the ovens for old-fashioned coffee cakes which are one of the most flavorful types of cakes to enjoy with coffee or tea due to their rich and moist flavors and often generously topped with spiced flavored streusels. Come and enjoy an evening of easy cake baking, you will be making your own Blackberry and Cream Cheese Coffee Cake, Quick Pineapple coffee cake, Apple Cinnamon Coffee cake, Super Carrot coffee cake, Orange spiced and glazed Coffee cake and Marble Bundt Coffee cake.

Classic Italian Pizza

 

Chef Suzanne travels extensively to Italy and is inviting you to come and learn how to make authentic Italian Pizza and discover some history and anecdotes of Italy’s favorite pizzas. 

In this demonstration class, you will learn how to make your own pizza dough from scratch and how to top the classic Italian Pizza with all fresh ingredients such as Pizza Margherita, Pizza Napolitana, and chef Suzanne’s own favorite creation: Pizza with Gorgonzola, Rucola and Prosciutto. Menu can be adjusted for Vegetarians.

Wrap and Roll

Chef Suzanne is inviting you to wrap and roll some global flavors which are fun to prepare and convenient to eat in a variety of tastes and techniques including international classic and temporary dishes from appetizers to main dishes and desserts. Revealing some of her popular catering secrets in this hands-on workshop she is wrapping and rolling with you Spam Sushi, French Nicoise Salad in Butter Lettuce Wrappers, Spiced Fruit Turnovers, Dolmas: grape leaves stuffed with spiced Bulgur, Grilled Chicken and Goat Cheese Calzone, Phyllo wrapped Bananas with decadent Chocolate Sauce. This class will guarantee that you will be having a wrap & rolling good time.

High Fiber, High Flavor

 

Suzanne is creating some nutritious punch recipes that are easy, delicious and with intense flavors from around the world such as Italian Deviled Leek Crostini, East European Buckwheat Salad, spiced Chicken with Cabbage and Mango Yogurt Brulee, while she will go over the important nutritional information about fiber rich foods. Menu can be adjusted for Vegetarians
